The blanket is knitted in eight strips and joined using mattress stitch. The strips consist of eight blocks of colour with an off-centre textured pattern adding an extra element of interest.\u003cbr\u003eThe strips begin with a provisional cast on and the stitches at the other end are left on a thread.\u003cbr\u003eThe side borders are picked up and knitted out in garter stitch.
